On Saturday we left our cosy little house outside Paris and headed to an island an hour away from Saint Malo. At about 10:00 AM, my family had the car packed, and we were ready to leave on a five hour drive and one hour boat trip. Because all the schools in Paris had been let out to have spring break on Friday, and because of the rain, we thought it would take longer to get tot he port in Saint Malo, where we were getting the ferry, than usual. But actually the drive took four hours as usual. The longest traffic jam on the road was only 5 minutes.
When we got to Saint Malo, of course we looked for a crêperie. Once we did find one, we realized that we had been there before and I remembered that the crêpes were delicious. I had remembered correctly, the crêpes had been better than before. I had a oeuf, champignon (egg and mushroom) crêpe for starters and une chocolat (chocolate) crêpe for dessert.
Once we had finished our delicious crêpes, we walked down the road and went into a store with hand knitted and quilted blankets, toys and barretes all done by the lady who owned the store. We bought a knitted turtle for our new baby cousin. Once we walked out of the store, we saw some people walking down the road with costumes and masks on. I asked my mom why they were dressed in costumes and walking down with people taking pictures of them and then she explained to me that there would be a carnival in Saint Malo the next day and they were obviously advertising the event.
Finally we got on the ferry and were in Jersey. Once we were in Jersey, we drove for 10 minutes at the most and got to the house we were renting for the week. When we got there, we saw our grandmother and a woman waiting outside for us. The woman was to show us around the house. Once we saw all of the bedrooms my family had decided that my baby sister should have a small bedroom with a crib in it, my twin sisters should have a room with twin beds in it, my parents should have a room with a bathtub and four post bed in it and I should have the room at the top with a bathtub, desk and queen size bed with a view of the ocean.
Soon after we had settled in the house, my aunt and uncle came with our new baby cousin. Since she was only one moth old, she was very tiny. She was very cute and she seemed to really like me.
Then we ordered Chinese food for dinner. It was great! We had noodles, duck, chicken, ribs and many other things. We then cleared up and got ready for bed. My first day was a mix of a fun and boring time.

Homework

Hi!
I'm sorry I haven't been writing much lately. I've had school plays and more ballet shows.

Fizzy

But now, my homework for my two week spring vacation is to write a story about what we did each day. I decided, instead of just writing it in my journal, why don't I share what has been happening with you guys too. So, I will be writing entry daily now. I might even challenge myself to write daily until we move back to California! So, come back daily to see all of the entries I have been writing about my wonderful time in Jersey!

Life Of A Pre-Ballerina

Hi Everyone!
I'm SOOO sorry I haven't written my first entry yet. I was SUPER busy with my ballet though. Ballet is my passion. Most girls will do ballet until they're six and then stop and never do it again. Nope. Not me. I plan on doing ballet for the rest of my life. I plan to become one of the world's best dancers. I want little girls to hang me up on their bedroom wall and say "That's who I'm gonna be when I grow up." Right now I live in Paris, and I really want to be in the l'Opera. If you don't know what the l'Opera is, then just say it's one of the worlds best theateres and it has a super good school/ballet school. So far two of my ballet teachers say I should go there and I'll keep my hopes up and pray that my third ballet teacher, who is probably way more professional than the other two, will say I will be able to go there. For right now, I can only work as hard as I can, and work on my French. Anyway... I was gone for more than two weeks because I was working on my ballet for the Nutcracker ballet show that my school was doing. It was hosted at my school theatre. It was a FULL house!! It was a huge success. Well, that's where I was. I'll write again soon!
